Why Ergonomics SA

Every person measured. Every change documented.

Every organisation runs on people’s bodies - backs, necks, wrists and eyes, eight hours a day. We own the space between furniture retail and clinical care: clinicians who measure, fit and document, and supply equipment as part of that.

Ergonomics Regulations, 2019

Ergonomic risk is a legal duty. We make it a file you can hand over.

Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, employers must assess ergonomic risks, put controls in place, inform and train staff, and keep records.

  • Risk assessment by a competent person
  • Controls beyond equipment alone
  • Training for every employee
  • Records an inspector can follow

Proof by artefact

See exactly what you receive

Every assessment ends in a measured report: the person, the workstation, what we changed, what we supplied and what to review - signed by a registered physiotherapist. Your HR, OHS and procurement teams get the same evidence trail.

  • Measurements in millimetres and degrees, before and after
  • Method scores (ROSA, RULA, REBA, NIOSH) with the source cited
  • Equipment-neutral recommendations and a costed fix list
  • Department roll-ups that protect individual privacy

Questions

What HR and OHS leaders ask first

Do we have to buy equipment to work with you?

No. Recommendations are equipment-neutral and you may source from your existing suppliers. We supply and fit when it is simpler for you to have one partner.

Who carries out the assessments?

Assessments are led by HPCSA-registered physiotherapists, supported by trained assessors for large screening campaigns. Every report is signed off by a registered clinician.

Does buying ergonomic furniture make us compliant?

No product on its own makes an organisation compliant. The Ergonomics Regulations, 2019 focus on assessing risk, controlling it, training people and keeping records - equipment is one of the controls.

How is our employees’ health information protected?

Screening data is special personal information under POPIA. Employers see aggregated results unless an employee consents to share an individual report, and data is used only to arrange and deliver the assessment.
